The Los Angeles Angels reportedly reached an agreement with free agent right-hander Michael Lorenzen on a one-year, $7 million deal.
Multiple outlets reported the deal, which is pending results of a physical.
Lorenzen, 29, who also plays in the outfield, joins a roster featuring baseball’s premier two-way player and 2021 American League MVP Shohei Ohtani.
Lorenzen has played his entire seven-season career with the Cincinnati Reds. He was 1-2 with a 5.59 ERA and four saves in 27 relief appearances in 2021.
The 2013 first-round draft pick owns a 23-23 career record since 2015 with a 4.07 ERA and 14 saves in 295 games (26 starts). The Anaheim native is a lifetime .233 hitter with seven homers and 24 RBIs in 321 games.
